That's a serviceable amount for this league but it'll be a touch slow on T16 bosses. Looking at something simialr to yours (no Acro, no MoM, no LL) like this build which is a double +2 6-linked Bane, it's at 810k Shaper DPS on an insanely expensive level of gear and level 97. If you're set on using Bane then I'd suggest looking at builds on poe.ninja and trying to figure out what they're doing. AoE, Intensify, and Arcane Surge) and watch your clear speed increase massively. Use that 4link then for Contagion (with Inc. It's not as optimal as using the skill gem for Occultist but it'll free up points you're putting in Hex Master and then you can use Allelopathy instead of Vixen's as a starter 5link for Blight so you don't need to spend money resocketing your chest. On your current build you have just enough mana to run a single defensive Blasphemy and can then use a Witchfire Brew for Despair. The big advantage of Bane is curse application and you'll likely give up a curse to make it work, unless you go Low Life. You can run double 5/6 links in Cane and your body armour to give yourself a Blight (or even use Bane) that you can channel for more single target. Bane can be good, but it never really exceeds ED in terms of damage and certainly clears less well even when it has a bunch of AoE investment. You may just want to switch to Essence Drain/Contagion full-time for now. Or you could socket the Medium where the Large is and use those points elsewhere. Chaos jewels in general don't have any stand-outs for DoT spell builds. For your large cluster jewel, Unwaveringly Evil is sort of underwhelming. I really like Master of Fear (for free Unnerve) and Wish for Death (for free Culling Strike, though you have to hit for it to go off) on curse cluster jewels. Forbidden Words is more of a cluster jewel for Blapshemy curses. You can grab Blood Drinker by Shadow for more life, and Revenge of the Hunted again for even more life Melding is an option too, you can spend 6 points for 24% at Revenge of the Hunted (plus some evasion and maybe enough Dex to drop Alacrity) or 4 points for 15% life at Melding (plus some ES). Reallocate your power charge passive points. Power charges are for crit builds, the marginal AoE you get from Forbidden Power is not worth investing that much. This sets you up to take Withering Presence after doing the Eternal Labyrinth. Get Void Beacon, the range on its "Nearby" is good. Void Beacon is great on a Chaos DoT build reducing enemy resistance is very important and chaos resistance is really hard to lower in general. Forbidden Power in your Ascendancy isn't doing much for you. If you're surviving alright it's worth keeping. If you're feeling squishy, Carcass Jack is a glass cannon chestpiece and you can swap it out. I suspect your clear speed will be fine without Obliteration. A blue Imbued Wand with +25% Chaos DoT multiplier adds 15-20% to your damage, and it's not hard to get one significantly better than that. Caster builds get a ton of value from the weapon slot. Obliteration + Occultist Profane Bloom is sort of overkill. Before you spend anything on going down to 3 curses, try just pulling the gem out of your gloves and see if you notice a big difference. Despair/Enfeeble/Temp Chains are great on their own and frees up investment in that 4th curse. Poacher's Mark might not be doing anything spectacular for you. Put your Wither Totem setup in something other than your weapons, if you plan on still using the weapon swap for clear/single target. That'll get you, at most, 10 Wither stacks and very likely less than that. You're relying on Withering Step for Wither stacks while killing bosses. If you can manage to get a 5L Cane you can double your single-target damage. Chaos DoTs are not ailments (aside from poison) so it's not doing anything for you. On your weapon swap to Cane of Unraveling you're using Unbound Ailments. Swap it for Controlled Destruction for about 30% more damage. Your clearing setup (Bane) is using a level 2 Empower for Chaos DoT builds Empower is strictly a 6th link, as even at level 4 it does less than the other supports available to you. There's a lot you can do to optimize here. Any idea on gear that is missing something obvious, or something that I could use to really push it to the next level? I'm guessing a solid stygian + jewel, but after that I'm sort of out of ideas. Alright folks, I'm enjoying this build, clear speed is real nice, but its starting to get a bit rippy as I push into yellow maps.
